SOMEWHERE IN NORTHERN ITALY

"Somewhere in northern Italy" will be inaugurated by the Mayor D.ssa Stefania Bonaldi and the Councilor for Tourism and Culture Prof. Emanuela Nichetti, in the exhibition halls of the Pro Loco, Saturday 26 January 2019, the anniversary of the Italian release of the film "Chiamami col Your name"

"Somewhere in northern Italy" is dedicated to all tourists who, in 2018, visited, photographed, admired and experienced Crema

From China, to Korea, from America and Europe by the thousands, new tourists have invaded a stupefied walled city that has never before witnessed such a phenomenon.

Suffice it to say that in April there were more than 1700 visitors

The Pro Loco has tripled its tourist turnout compared to the equivalent of the previous years, especially to the cinema tourism brought by Luca Guadagnino's film “Call me by your name”, winner of the Oscar for the best non-original screenplay.

Crema and its Pro Loco, has adapted by changing, to allow a serious and constructive welcome.

“Somewhere in northern Italy”, quoted in the opening credits, well reflects the atmosphere that the tourist, no longer distinguishable from the “fan”, expects to find in his Cremasca trip.

In this exhibition dedicated to the “Call me by your name” phenomenon, but also to all the films shot in Crema.

The real protagonist will be the tourist.

An entire wall will be covered with photos taken by fans of the film, thanks to the contribution of tourists satisfied with their stay in Crema.

In addition to the photos, props, illustrations and gadgets referring to “Call me by your name” and other films shot in the area will be exhibited.

A summary of all the related events that have positively upset the habits of our town in the year just ended.

What these experiences have in common is the atmosphere suggested by a city and its surroundings which, although represented on film in an idyllic way, constitute a different attraction from the usual postcard Italy we know.

The exhibition aims to thank and honor all those who have visited our town, giving themselves experiences and emotions impossible to reconstruct elsewhere.

The wording “Somewhere in Northern Italy” now has a name, Crema.

An unrepeatable event not to be missed!
